Cobra King Speedzone One Length Irons

Cobra do innovation as well as any manufacturer and the Speedzone One Length irons provide a perfect demonstration of this. Before we even consider the possible benefits of the One Length option, there’s a raft of features in the Speedzone irons that could help players find increased distance and consistency.

Editor's Choice 2020

First thing you might notice with the Speedzone irons is that they feature the first ever carbon fibre topline. Two strips of carbon fibre replace steel both on and underneath the topline in the 4-7 irons, creating a new I-beam type of construction, allowing for saved weight and structural soundness – the objective being increased distance.

The wide body Speedback shaping is designed to lower the centre of gravity and increase forgiveness while the clubface features an updated structure that helps create more energy return through a deeper undercut channel.

In the grooves

Progressive groove shaping aims to optimise spin – V-shaped grooves in the 4-6 irons help create a powerful ball flight while U-shaped grooves in the 7 iron – PW strive to help you generate backspin.

There’s no doubt these clubs are long, and we were highly impressed by the distance and forgiveness in testing together with control in the shorter irons.

One Length

The Speedzone One Length irons feature fine-tuned lie angles and progressive shaft weighting to optimise launch and forgiveness in the long irons, and lower launch with more control in the scoring irons.

One-length irons allow you to stand to the ball in the same way regardless of the iron you’re using, helping with consistency of strike and club speed. Essentially you can swing the same way regardless of what club you have in your hand. Bryson DeChambeau makes it work pretty well and, if you struggle for consistency with your iron play, it could also work for you.
