Schwartzel - "I can compete"
Ahead of the final Major of the golfing calendar the conqueror of Augusta says he has what it takes to win 93rd USPGA Championship
Reigning US Master's champion Charl Schwartzel is in confident mood ahead of tomorrow's USPGA Championship as he looks to crown a memorable year.
The South African already has the Green Jacket in his wardrobe and is hopeful of adding the Wanamaker Trophy to his collection.
When he tees off tomorrow at the Atlanta Athletic club he will go out with fellow ISM stable-mates Darren Clarke and Rory McIlroy. The trio will be looking to complete an unprecedented 'Chubby Slam'. All three belong to 'Chubby' Chandler's ISM sports agency and have given the Englishman plenty to cheer about, winning each of the Majors this season.
Schwartzel says, "After the win at the Masters, I just feel like every time I enter one of these major championships that I can compete in them and get a win out of them."
Having completed his practice round he said of the par-3 15th hole, "What can you say? It's just a beast of a hole. It's long. It's actually quite a small green from that sort of distance.
"We played off the back. The flag was in the front, I hit a three-iron out of my shoes and it just flew to the front edge."
