The 152nd playing of The Open Championship will take place at Royal Troon Golf Club on the west coast of Scotland. It is the first time since Henrik Stenson and Phil Mickelson's epic Sunday showdown in 2016 that The Open has returned to the course, and it will be the 10th time the Championship has been played here in total.
This year's Open at Royal Troon will look slightly different than last time out, though, thanks to a handful of key changes to the course. Not only has work been carried out to make 'The Coffin' bunker at the side of the iconic Postage Stamp hole even tougher, but the R&A has confirmed the longest hole in Open Championship history could be in play this week at over 600 yards. The shortest could feature as well, at only 99 yards, if the R&A opts to set the Postage Stamp hole up at its theoretical easiest.
Brian Harman is the defending champion after a simply extraordinary performance at the 151st Open Championship at Royal Liverpool in 2023. Harman hit the front early on and never looked back, romping home to win by six strokes on 13-under par.
