Putters: Cleveland VP5 09 and TaylorMade Rossa Kia Ma Imola 8
Golf Monthly takes a look at the leading, cutting-edge design putters on the market, including the Nike METHOD 001, PING Wack-E iN and TaylorMade Rossa Kia Ma Imola 8

Cleveland VP5 09 putter, £95
Key technology: The Cleveland VP5 09 putter has a yellow and black alignment system that detects if your hands have moved out of position or your eyes are not directly over the ball - the two main contributors to missed putts. The VP509 has a three-quarter shaft offset with a soft elastomer face insert for improved feel.
Great for anyone who feels that they can read greens well enough, but struggle to start the ball on the intended line. The alignment system will help prevent pulls and pushes. The ability to check that the eyes are over the ball is a real bonus. A putter this size could benefit from a little more weight.
TaylorMade Rossa Kia Ma Imola 8 putter, £219
Key technology: The TaylorMade Rossa Kia Ma Imola 8 putter is milled from carbon steel for added feel and sensitivity. It has a midnight black finish to prevent sun glare.
Master craftsman Kia Ma is a legend in the high-end putter market and this is another fantastic design. The black head frames the ball superbly. The Imola 8 offers quality feel and a brilliantly weighted head. A more subtle, classic grip design would have suited the head.
