Davies Wins Again At Last

Britain's Laura Davies finally ended her long sequence without a victory after running away with the SAS Masters title in Oslo on Sunday.

42 year-old Laura Davies clinched her first win for almost two-and-a-half years on Sunday at the SAS Masters in Oslo, Norway - her 67th career victory and a record 35th on the European Tour.

The big-hitting and popluar Englishwoman, a former world numebr one, fired a final round of 68 to finish some six shots ahead of the runner-up, Ellen Smets of Belgium.

"This just feels absolutely fantastic," she said after finishing ahead of Smets. Virginie Lagoutte and Australian Nikki Garrett finished in a tie for third on -4.

"I must admit that after I made such a horrible start to the year (she missed seven out of her first eight cuts this season) it did cross my mind that I might not win again. Two-and-a-half years is a very long time. But then I got my form back in Europe and the whole season turned around completely for me. Now I'm just looking forward to the rest of the season and hopefully winning again."
