Richard Herring, the Head PGA Professional at Orsett Golf Club, Essex will embark on a charity golf marathon in June 2010.
Starting at 4.45am on Friday June 18, the 37-year-old will play eight rounds - a total of 188 holes - before the day is out.
Herring will be supporting Macmillan Cancer Support and Alzheimer's Society when he takes on the golf marathon.
Macmillan Cancer Support has been chosen by the club's Mens' and Ladies' captains, Steve Biggin and Irene Charlick, who will also endure the 188 holes.
Macmillan Cancer Support fundraising manager for Essex, Lyn Crowe, said: "The money Richard will raise from his golfing challenge will have an enormous impact on the lives of people with cancer and their families."
In relation to the Alzheimer's Society, Richard will be raising money to fund the new 'forget me not' gardens at the Thurrock Community Hospital, where both patients and carers will enjoy stimulating yet relaxing time.
Nicole Kenlin, the manager of the Grays branch of the Alzheimer's Society, said: "The great thing about the money raised from this golf marathon is it will help many who have connection with the golf club."
