PGA Tour 2013/14 schedule announced
The PGA Tour has announced its full schedule for 2013/14, which comprises 45 FedEx Cup events over two calendar years for the first time in the circuit's history.
This season, the FedEx Cup and the PGA Tour Money List have been aligned, resulting in the eradication of the 'Fall Series'.
Those events that previously comprised the end-of-season series - predominantly used by players attempting to keep their PGA Tour card - now form the start of the new season, with all events issuing FedEx Cup points and contributing towards the season-long race for the FedEx Cup.
"We have an exceptionally strong schedule as we transition to the new season structure," said Andy Padzer, Chief of Operations for the PGA Tour.
"This season has a solid and interesting start with three domestic and international tournaments, providing players with a great opportunity to get a jump in the FedEx Cup standings.
"The schedule then resumes in January with the traditional swing through Hawaii before moving to the West Coast.
"We are very pleased with the flow and stability of the new schedule."
The season will start with the Frys.com Open on October 10, 2013 and culminate with the Tour Championship on September 11, 2014.
The first portion of the season takes in six events before pausing for a December break. These initial events include the CIMB Classic in Kuala Lumpur and The WGC-HSBC Champions, which both become official PGA Tour events for the first time.
After Christmas, the Tour picks up again in Hawaii before a six-week West Coast stint, concluding with the WGC-Accenture Matchplay in February - the first WGC of the year.
Florida and Texas and the South-east stage various tournaments throughout March, April and May, with The Masters taking place from April 10-13.
The next seven-week block, primarily taking in the Mid-West and the North-East, starts with the Memorial Tournament in May and concludes with the John Deere Classic in July.
The US Open takes place from June 12-15 at Pinehurst and The Open is staged the following month at Royal Liverpool, Hoylake.
Four events, including the PGA Championship at Valhalla, then take the PGA Tour up to the four-tournament FedEx Cup play-offs series, with the Tour Championship signifying the end of the season.
