Asian Tour Qualifying School: Day Two
It was all smiles for Englishman John Parry on day two at the Asian Tour Q School – he found himself tied for the lead

It was all smiles for Englishman John Parry on day two at the Asian Tour Q School – he found himself tied for the lead. A joint best score of the day – a 68 – added to a first round 72 put him on 140, the same score as Jason Norris of Australia and George Coetzee of South Africa.
Parry, from Harrogate, was shattered to miss the four-round cut at the European Tour Q School in Catalunya in November by a single shot, but a change of continent has done him good.
And he obviously enjoyed his second round in Thailand. "I played better than the first day with a bit more control to my game. (After Catalunya) I thought of giving it a shot on the Asian Tour and I'm enjoying it so far this week. "I hope to finish in the top-40, the higher the better. I am not thinking how the others are performing but just focus on my own game," said 22-year-old Parry, who was the World Amateur number seven in 2007.
Day one leader Ross Bain of Scotland slipped to tied 19th after a poor 76 and both Englishmen who were joint third yesterday – Ally Mellor and Yasin Ali – also dropped back, although Mellor is handily placed at tied 14th while Ali’s 79 pushed him back to tied 80th.
