We found it difficult to differentiate between these two excellent sets. Both continue the MP tradition of great looking irons that feel incredibly silky out of the middle. In terms of flight and feel there was little to separate the two, with the MP-52's offering marginally more forgiveness. Traditionalists will love the head shape and the look of both at address so it may come down to a question of aesthetics in the bag when choosing between one or the other. The new MP-62 features a soleplate inspired by Luke Donald's personal grind, which helps to cut through the turf and produce a pure strike. A dual muscle bar helps to remove unwanted vibrations on miss-hits by placing mass behind the middle of the face for improved feel. The MP-52 also has a dual muscle design, but with a pocket cavity in the back of the head from 3 to 7-iron that should make them more forgiving. These have been designed with mid and low handicappers in mind who want a traditional looking, forged club without losing out on forgiveness.
