Seve out of intensive care
Seve Ballesteros is out of intensive care where he has been for over a month
Seve Ballesteros has left intensive care where he has been for over a month following surgery to remove a brain tumour.
La Paz hospital, where Ballesteros has been treated, revealed last week that he was showing signs of improvement although they have stressed how the Spaniard faces a long road to a full recovery.
"He is continuing his rehabilitation and is receiving restricted visits," said the hospital.
"Seve Ballesteros has left the intensive care unit and has now changed ward.
"Although this is good news, I would like to ask for everyone's patience - because the process is a lengthy one, and there is still a long way to go."
Ballesteros, the new ambassador of MD Golf, was due to attend a golf exhibition in Germany last month but collapsed at Madrid’s international airport.
Tests revealed that the Spaniard had a brain tumour and he subsequently underwent three bouts of surgery including an operation to reduce brain swelling.
