TopGolf's £1million hole-in-one Challenge
TopGolf target golf range in Chigwell in Essex held its 'Swing for £1million' where their lucky millionth customer had three chances to hole a shot to win a life-changing sum of money
Michael Applin, an IT manager from Theydon Bois in Essex, attempted to hole a shot for £1million yesterday.
Michael had won this opportunity when he became TopGolf's one millionth customer in Chigwell.
"Basically I was very lucky, I was due to take the children to a golf lesson that they regularly attend on a Saturday afternoon at Epping golf club. It was cancelled that weekend and I had forgotten all about it," revealed Michael
"I had driven them up there with clubs and everything ready to go and because I had forgotten and no one was there we decided to go up to TopGolf instead, I couldn't believe it when they told us."
Michael, 39, had three chances to hole out and win the jackpot – with one shot to the 150-yard hole, and two to the 190-yard hole.
"It was an unbelievable opportunity to shoot for £1million. I genuinely appreciate the support and effort put in by everyone at the range," said Michael.
And although he failed to collect the big prize, he did not go home empty handed.

TopGolf Operations Director James Jenkins said: "It is a shame Michael didn't manage to sink the hole-in-one. We would have loved to hand over the big £1million cheque.
"We even bought Michael a Lottery ticket to give him another
chance to win big, but it wasn't meant to be."
