Congressional Country Club: Hole 9
The 2011 US Open returns to Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland. Here's your hole-by-hole guide to the Blue course that last hosted America's Open in 1997
Hole 9 Par 5 636 yards
The longest hole on the course and with a new tee the 9th now plays 30 yards longer than it did in 1997 at 636 yards. Anyone who ends up short of the green will pay the cost of playing from the deepest rough on the course. Even though this is an outright three-shot par 5, the tee maybe moved forward for one round to tempt the big-hitters into going for it in two. The green is split into three sections so depending on where the pin is placed accuracy will prove vital.
