Titleist irons review

Titleist ZM Forged irons
Golf Monthly Verdict

A classy clean-looking club at address, yet not an excessively small blade to my eye. I hit the 5-iron well on a nice trajectory, and felt it had a subtly different feel to its three Titleist stablemates. There did seem to be a welcome hint of forgiveness too, although I felt it prudent not to hit too many deliberate (!) thins on a cold test morning. Very nice club for the better-than-average ball-striker.

This new tour-inspired chrome muscleback is forged from soft 1025 carbon steel. It has a classic profile, minimal progressive offset, a shorter hosel length in the long irons to realign weight bias for improved launch, and a slightly narrower sole than its ZB Forged stablemate with one degree more sole bounce. The distinctive Z-Muscle design in the back helps ensure the centre of gravity is precisely located for a solid feel off the centre of the blade.
