Woods wins Target World Challenge by seven shots
Tiger Woods returned to competitive golf with a comprehensive victory over a world-class field in the Target World Challenge.
Tiger Woods showed no signs of ring rust as ge raced to a seven-shot win in the Target World Challenge.
Despite having been away from competitive golf for 10 weeks, a stunning second round of 62 broke the course record and gave Woods a lead he never looked like losing. Jim Furyk briefly showed signs of catching the world number one when he reduced the gap to two mid-way through the final round. But Tiger pushed on to ultimately finish well clear, a round of 68 leaving him on 22 under par.
The lowest rounds of the final day went to Lee Westwood and Colin Montgomerie who both looked sharp on their way to 66s.
Woods will donate his $1.35 million in winnings to the Tiger Woods Foundation.
