On 6th September 2008, Wyboston Lakes Golf Centre reaches a milestone as it celebrates its 25th anniversary as one of Anglia s premier golf destinations.
The par 70, 18-hole golf course was designed by Neil Oakden in 1983. Wyboston Lake's golf course is already famed for hosting the St Neots Mayor s Charity Golf Day and the Bedfordshire County Boys Under 14s Championship. The Centre accommodates season ticket holders, "pay and play golfers, golf societies and corporate groups of 12 to 140 golfers.
For more than two decades, Wyboston Lakes has constantly been improving its offering to meet the needs of today's golfers. Some of the course s recent developments include the construction of new tee boxes on the 1st and 10th holes and the creation of one of the largest bunkers in the area surrounding the 18th green. The course features a floodlit driving range, golf clinic and three on-site PGA professionals who provide golf lessons and expert advice. Using the latest state-of-the-art swing analysis system, they can also offer guidance on the best golf clubs to use to enhance your game. In addition, the golf professional Paul Ashwell was recognised by leading publication Golf Monthly as the second best golf coach in the UK.
The course is complemented by a range of on-site leisure facilities, including a Fitness Centre with an indoor pool, corporate team-building events, 406 ensuite bedrooms and two dedicated conference and training centres.
David Little, Leisure Services Manager for the last nine years, said: I would like to thank all of those who have made it possible to reach this milestone. Providing a first class golfing facility, together with our warm and friendly welcome is our top priority, and we look forward to welcoming many more golfers to our course during our 25th anniversary celebration.
