On the May 5, 2009, SSgt David Ross will be attempting to play golf for 24 hours straight to raise money for the Help for Heroes charity, in an event named The Upavon 'Golfathon'.
Help for Heroes was established in 2007 and Major Phil Packer RMP, a close friend of Ross', has been trying to raise £1 million after he sustained a life-changing injury during his tour of Iraq.
The event will be held at Upavon Golf Club in Wiltshire and has been aptly labelled a ‘golfathon’.
Ross will tee off on May 5 at 4pm and, with playing partner Stuart Jamieson, will work round the course for a 24 hours.
If you want to play, contact Richard on 01980 630281 and leave your name and contact telephone number. Places cannot be guaranteed as there are a limited number of slots but help and donations will be greatly appreciated.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor David Ross. Help for Heroes gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
