Xander Schauffele has become one of golf's most consistent performers, with multiple PGA Tour titles and an Olympic gold medal under his belt. As well as these victories, he has achieved several top-10 finishes in Major championships and made appearances in President and Ryder Cup teams.

One person who has been with him throughout his professional career is his wife, Maya Lowe.

Schauffele and Lowe have been together since 2014 after the pair met while at university in San Diego. Interestingly, both went to different colleges, Schauffele attending and playing golf at San Diego State University, whilst Lowe went to the University of California, San Diego.

Schauffele graduated with a degree in Social Sciences while Lowe graduated from college with a degree in science and public health. She also has a Masters degree in healthcare administration.

Her LinkedIn says she works as “Center Manager Flex” for Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest. She has held the position, which is based in San Diego, California, since December 2017. It has been reported that she has been working for the company since 2015.

Lowe is fluent in Japanese and has done quite a bit of volunteer work in her life. In 2014, she was a Campus Ambassador for the Peace Corps. During that same period, Lowe volunteered as an operations intern for Project Concern International, a non-profit organization based in San Diego.

She also volunteered at Planned Parenthood before getting full-time employment with the company.

Maya also appears to be a keen photographer after being spotted photographing her husband at the 2024 Players Championship. Xander finished T2 in the PGA Tour's flagship event at TPC Sawgrass.

In 2021, the couple got married in Las Vegas, a week after the US Open. Playing the Scottish Open in his first start as a married man, Shauffele humorously said: “No offense to anyone here, but I would not choose a place that rains so much to take my honeymoon.

“It's been a long time coming. … We’ve been together for quite some time and decided to make it public. We're very happy.”

Schauffele posted a photo from his wedding on his Instagram account with the wedding party including the couple’s French bulldog, who was wearing a tuxedo.

Xander and Maya live together in Jupiter, Florida close by to their good friends Patrick and Nikki Guidish. The four regularly go on vacations and socialize together, with Xander and Patrick partners in the Ryder Cup, Presidents Cup and Zurich Classic.

Matt joined Golf Monthly in February 2021 covering weekend news, before also transitioning to equipment and testing. After freelancing for Golf Monthly and The PGA for 18 months, he was offered a full-time position at the company in October 2022 and continues to cover weekend news and social media, as well as help look after Golf Monthly’s many buyers’ guides and equipment reviews.

Taking up the game when he was just seven years of age, Matt made it into his county squad just a year later and continues to play the game at a high standard, with a handicap of around 2-4. To date, his best round came in 2016, where he shot a six-under-par 66 having been seven-under through nine holes. He currently plays at Witney Lakes in Oxfordshire and his favourite player is Rory McIlroy, despite nearly being struck by his second shot at the 17th during the 2015 BMW PGA Championship.
