I sit here with time to spare to give a short update on the ‘Break 90' challenge thanks to yet another round of golf cancelled due to the English summer.
Since last time I've had a full assessment from @fitness4golfers, the result being the need to increase core strength with flexibility and stability the main focus, I've got quite a demanding routine of exercises to try to achieve this.
As for playing, things have been steadily progressing nicely, some good lessons with Golf Monthly Top25 coach Steve Robbo has seen my shoulder turn increase with a much better coil.
Having qualified for an ‘East Riding Union of Golf Clubs' final up at Filey GC I managed to score 36 points in bad conditions to win the Division 3 category, winning a shield, glass tankard and a £50 voucher.
On a bit of a role, I then went on to win the Division 2 July medal at my home club (KP) with a gross 87, this has seen my handicap cut to 19.3.
Next on the agenda is a big one for the PYB golfers, the ‘Gainsborough Lee Westwood Day', can't wait!
