Bell among leading young quartet for Japan

Jonathan Bell winner of two key championships this year and capped in the Boys Home Internationals, is one of four talented youngsters to represent England in the Honda International Junior Championship at Wild Duck Country Club in Nikkawa Kamisu City, Japan, on 24th - 26th October.
He will be accompanied by Adam Carson (Long Ashton), Tom Lewis (Welwyn Garden City) and Chris Lloyd (The Kendleshire).
Bell, 17, from Royal Blackheath, is enjoying a successful season with victories in the Sir Henry Cooper Junior Masters and the South East Junior Championship, while he finished runner-up in the South East Qualifying individual ranking and third in the Fairhaven Trophy. In his debut in the Boys Home Internationals, Bell lost only one of his six matches while he has also won several events in his home county of Kent.
Conversely, Carson, 16, has been handicapped by injury this season but the Gloucestershire Junior Champion is fit again. Winner of the 2007 English Under 16 Championship, Carson also finished runner-up in the South West Under 16 Championship and tied fourth in the Fairhaven Trophy.
Lewis, 17, from Hertfordshire, is a former under 16 cap who stepped up to boys level this year and played in the European Boys Team Championships and the Boys Home Internationals. In 2007, Lewis won the Sir Henry Cooper Junior Masters, finished joint second in the McGregor Trophy (English Under 16 Championship) and was joint winner of the North of England Under 16 Championship. This year, he has finished second in the Fairhaven Trophy, was joint winner of the George Henriques Salver for the leading under 20s after finishing tied third in the Brabazon Trophy, and finished tied fourth in the Carris Trophy (English Under 18 Championship). Lewis also represented GB&I in the Jacques Leglise Trophy.
Lloyd, 16, from Bristol, won the 2007 South West Boys under 16 title, was joint winner of the North of England Under 16 Championship, runner-up in the Carris Trophy and second in the South West Boys Championship. This year, he has won the Ernie Els World Junior Championship in South Africa and the North of England under 16 title, finished runner-up in the Gloucestershire Championship and fifth in the European Young Masters. He also reached the third round of the British Boys Championship.
The format for the tournament is three rounds of stroke play with the best three scores to count each day.
