Chris Wood attends launch of Golf On The Edge 2
Chris Wood was at the launch of author Ross Biddiscombe's Golf On The Edge 2: Q School Complete recently, and talked about his amateur golf days and his Open hopes.
The launch of Golf On The Edge 2: Q School Complete brought together author Ross Biddiscombe and one of the book’s main subjects Chris Wood in a Q&A that revealed plenty of behind-the-scenes secrets about life of the modern professional.
Twenty-one-year-old Wood is in the middle of a highly successful first full season as a professional and is preparing for a return to next week’s Open Championship where he won the Silver Medal last year as top amateur.
Woods told members at Long Ashton Golf Club in Bristol, where he first learned the game, that he has had no regrets since turning pro a year ago and is hopeful of another great Open performance. In addition, he is delighted to have his 2009 Q School journey recorded.
“The book is great because in 10 or 15 years I’ll have this to remind me of what happened at the start of my pro career,” said Wood. Golf On The Edge 2: Q School Complete chronicles the heartbreak, the joy and, for the first time, the complete history of the European Tour Q School.
Author Ross Biddiscombe captures three decades worth of stories about the qualifying tournament with Q School experiences of some of Europe’s great players.
The book delivers all the drama of the Q School 2008 tournament where a record number of rookies broke through, including Chris Wood, fellow Englishman Danny Willett, Sweden’s Oskar Henningsson and Callum Macaulay of Scotland.
