Ian Woosnam and Costantino Rocca were on hand to teach youngsters the basics of the game in the lead up to the PGA Seniors Championship at De Vere Slaley Hall, where the event will be played over the famous Hunting Course.

The former Ryder Cup stars were at the centre of an initiative launched by the Golf Foundation and De Vere Slaley Hall, whereby children are being encouraged to take up the game with the Tri-Golf programme.

"To involve the local community in an event like this is fantastic and you never know, this initiative could unearth a future Major Champion!"

Woosnam is also looking forward to competing in the prestigious event: "This is always a great week for us at Slaley Hall, the course is in great condition and it attracts a strong field," added the Welshman.
