Northern Trust Open golf betting: Others to consider

Golf betting guide for the Northern Trust Open courtesy of our expert Paul Krishnamurty who takes a look at the main contenders for this week's PGA Tour event and names his selections to bring home the cash

Jim Furyk

JIM FURYK   Golf's 'Mr Consistency' makes his seasonal debut on a course where his record is uniquely poor. Besides one third place, he has made the top 30 only once in well over a decade.   ANGEL CABRERA

As a top-class, big-hitting overseas star, Cabrera ticks several boxes. It's strange therefore to find that he's yet to register a top ten in seven Riviera visits.

Third place in this event 12 months ago was one of the highlights of a disappointing campaign, but Choi still warrants respect as a multiple winner. That was his third top-seven finish at Riviera, and the Korean wasn't too far away over the weekend.

ANTHONY KIM   Kim makes his first US start of an important year of his progress, needing to recapture the magic of 2008. He did make a highly impressive course debut that year, finishing ninth.   TIM CLARK

Dustin hasn't delivered yet in 2010, but remains a player worth following, and did make last year's top ten.

After a couple of top threes already in 2010, Kuchar must rate a contender on any course, even if he has previously showed very little here.   RYAN MOORE   Outside the top 60 on three previous visits, but Moore remains a player on the up.   MICHAEL SIM   Last year's Nationwide Tour winner served notice of his great potential on Sunday, but will do well to prosper on his Riviera debut.   BRANDT SNEDEKER   In good form, but missed both previous cuts here.   NICK WATNEY   Another classy up and coming player, who is hard to fancy on previous Riviera evidence.

MIKE WEIR   Weir has some great course form having won the Nissan Open in consecutive years, but don't be fooled. Since the course was lengthened in 2004, his best is just 22nd.
