English champion Hannah Barwood won the girls’ title at the Faldo Series Grand Final 2008 at the Costa Do Sauipe Resort in Brazil.
The 18-year-old from Knowle in Gloucestershire scored 78, 74, 78 and finished was two shots clear of her closest challenger, Jenna Birch of Royal Lytham & St Annes.
Warwickshire champion Abbey Gittings, 18, (Walmley) was the next best-placed English player, finishing 6th. Hannah and Abbey are both members of English Women’s Golf Association squads.
This was the first Faldo Series grand final to be held outside the UK and was contested by 80 young golfers who qualified from events in 15 countries. Competitors aged 12 to 21 from as far afield as Iceland, Turkey, Russia and India joined this year’s UK qualifiers for three rounds of tournament golf.
