Walking off the 18th green it's hard to believe that Kingsbarns has only been in existence for 10 years, such is the clever way the design blends course into environment. History says golf was played on this land in the 18th century but one can guarantee it looked nothing like it did before Kyle Phillips got to work on creating this modern classic. Every hole offers a view of the sea, but it's hard to take your eye off the stunning course such is the quality of the layout. Possibly the most fun course of the 100 - it's just a shame it's closed for maintenance a third of the year.
Panellists' comments: "A brilliant location, very visually appealing"; "No two holes seem alike"; "Feels more like 100 years old than 10"
