Golf as it has always been and in my opinion as it should be.
You have probably heard that this is England’s oldest links (having been founded in 1864) and when you survey the scene from the 1st tee you know that very little has changed since Old Tom carefully plotted 18 holes around the Northam Burrows.
It may be flat but definition comes as the holes wind their way between sea rushes, over ditches, and around horses, sheep and beach-goers.
The clubhouse is a living, breathing golf museum and should take up as much of your time as the course itself. LN
+ Pure, natural links golf: very friendly club; good value - Patchy condition as on common land; locker rooms need updating
