The West Links oozes nearly as much golfing history as St Andrews Old. Both start and finish in town, and both hark back to a bygone design era of hole creation via minimal land movement. From the 13th you'll play first to a green set directly behind a stone wall, then via a blind approach towards Bass Rock, then to the original Redan green, and finally to the unique 16th green, traversed amidships by a deep, unexpected swale. The clubhouse is a fine place to relive what will undoubtedly have been a round of golf packed with fun.
Panellists' comments: "A serious examination of your approach play"; "Coastal invigoration and architectural individuality"
