Machrihanish GC
Machrihanish is a true hidden gem and perfect destination for those in search of a bit of pure links action

Machrihanish is a true hidden gem and perfect destination for those in search of a bit of pure links action. The whole course is a jaw dropping experience but nowhere more so that at the spectacular first.
The hole is a par-4 that's played from an elevated tee over sand and when the tide is in the, Atlantic Ocean. Stand there and drink it all in and you'll understand why it has often featured in many polls for the best opening holes in golf.
The course layout means golfers having to combat wind on the majority of holes and if it picks up the course offers a stern test. Situated on the Kintyre Peninsula on the West of Scotland this Links course remains a relatively unknown links and quite simply must be played to be believed.
Best Hole: It has to the opener ? it really gets you in the mood to battle against what is an awesome course.
Green Fees: £35 Sunday-Friday, £40 Saturday
Location: Machrihanish, Campbeltown, Argyll PA28 6PT
