Whalsay GC

Whale Of A Time!

Whalsay Golf Club is on the Isle of Whalsay, an hour north of the main town of Lerwick including a short ferry crossing. The 6140 yards, par 70 course is the most northerly 18 holes in Britain, established in 1976 by a small group of local fishermen.

It is Whalsay?s physical setting that makes it one of the most unique courses in Britain. A pod of killer whales came into the bay by the 7th fairway last year. The Shetland Isles are, of course renowned for wildlife; you will see seals, gannets, cormorants, perhaps an otter playing in the seaweed and dozens of other species.
