Southport & Ainsdale GC

Southport & Ainsdale (S&A) lies on a stretch of English golfing coast that competes comfortably with the best of the Celtic links. And the entire course is a Site of Special Scientific Interest, where natterjack toads and squirrels reside happily in the sand dunes and heathland.
The course received the James braid touch in 1923 and the master's legacy is a fair but tough test. It is most memorable for its fine collection of par 3s that require precision to either find elevated surfaces (8thand 10th) or avoid copious bunkers(1st and 13th). The course is well-maintained and the clubhouse well-equipped. In fact the post round nosh is particularly good.
Best Hole: Like Lytham this one starts with a par 3. A very demanding opening tee shot especially if the wind is blowing.
Location: Bradshaws Lane, Ainsdale, Southport, Merseyside PR8 3LG
