Firstlight International hosted the Firstlight Challenge Cup at the K Club, Dublin, where top entertainment and football celebrities came together to support the launch of the club's luxury homes.
The entertainment team, lead by Ronan Keating, was made up of presenters Declan Donnelly, Anthony McPartlin, actors James Nesbit and Dougray Scott, ex-world snooker champion Dennis Taylor and cricket legend Ian Botham.
Their opponents compromised of a host of footballing personalities including Alan Shearer, Kevin Keegan, Steve Harper, David Platt, David Seaman, Gary Speed, Dwight Yorke, Les Ferdinand and Dean Ashton.
The match, played on the K Club's famous Arnold Palmer course used in the 2006 Ryder Cup, ended in a tie and subsequently a one-hole playoff decided the match. Dougrey Scott won the closest to the pin competition, giving the entertainers the Firstlight Challenge Cup win. Keating commented: "There are lots of different things that make the K Club so special; the staff make you feel at home, there's incredible facilities such as the spa and its probably one of the best golf courses in the country."
The celebrities were promoting 'fractional ownership' of the homes and stayed in those very premises during the competition period.
David Platt said: "Fractional ownership at the K Club, it's a no brainer, with all the economic problems around at the moment too it does not make sense to buy a whole property when you use it for just a few weeks of the year."
