Before we talk about each model individually, why should you be interested in a Motocaddy remote product in the first place? Well, as all three trolleys are part of Motocaddy's 'M' range of trolleys, it means they are compact folding. The twin front wheels fold under the chassis, the rear wheels can be inverted, and the rear anti-tip wheel can be stowed away, making for a much smaller footprint when stowed away. Cleverly, all three models also feature a built-in stand, allowing the trolley to stand up on its own for even more convenient storage at home or in the car.

All three models are also EASILOK compatible. This feature, when paired with a Motocaddy bag, allows the bag to attach to the base of the trolley without the need for a bottom bungee strap. Not only does it make the bag sit more securely on the base, but it also makes set-up time even quicker.

As for the remote functionality, all three are controlled through a rechargeable remote handset designed with ultra-responsive buttons for close control on the golf course. All three benefit from twin 360° rotating front wheels that offer ultimate manoeuvrability, no matter the terrain. While much of the same DNA runs through the Motocaddy remote range, each model has key and distinct features that make it stand out.

Motocaddy ME Remote

This trolley is for the golfer who wants to be a part of the hands-free electric trolley revolution at the most cost-effective entry point. Not only is it the most affordable in the Motocaddy REMOTE Range, but it is also one of the most affordable remote trolleys on the market.

The biggest difference with the ME is that it comes with a wired lithium battery, rather than the wireless CLICK 'N' CONNECT battery that is used on the rest of the range. Though a different battery, it is still operated via a high-power 28V system that is more powerful, efficient and reliable than ever. The handle, though not benefitting from a screen, still shows power and battery indicators, while you can switch easily from remote to handheld mode thanks to the control dial on the handle.

Though at the lowest end of the market price-wise, it still comes with plenty of bells and whistles. Compact folding and with a 360° rotating twin front wheel, the ME is as easy to control and navigate as all of the trolleys in the Motocaddy REMOTE range. It utilises the same handset as the rest of the range, a compact device that can control the trolley from over 100 meters away. An emergency stop button and a handset lock keep you in full control at all times.

It also has a USB charging point built into the handle, ideal for charging a phone or golf GPS device on the go. This is the perfect remote trolley for those looking to get started with a remote trolley for the first time and who want to benefit from all the joys of using a remote trolley on the golf course, without the need for anything more.

Motocaddy M7 Remote

The M7 Remote has a number of upgrades versus the ME Remote.

Upgrading to the M7 REMOTE from ME brings along several quality-of-life upgrades that make living with and operating the trolley even more straightforward. The biggest of which is the CLICK 'N' CONNECT cable-free battery housed in the chassis. This has been cleverly designed with an auto-disconnect feature that, when the trolley is folded away, reveals a pop-up charging port which allows you to charge the battery while it is still housed in the chassis. In theory, it means you never have to remove the battery from the chassis to charge it.

The handle is upgraded, too, with an LCD widescreen display showing the nine speed settings with a speed indicator and a more precise battery meter showing you how much power it has left. The folding mechanism is subtly different from ME, too. Whereas on the ME, the anti-tip rear wheel has to be fully removed to allow the trolley to fold up, the M7 has an anti-tip rear wheel that can retract into the chassis, making the folding time even quicker.

While the physical remote is the same as the ME, the addition of Automatic Downhill Control allows the M7 REMOTE to maintain the exact speed you set it at, regardless of whether it's going up or down a steep slope. This technology allows you to send the M7 REMOTE up or down even the steepest hill and still feel in complete control of its speed and direction.

Motocaddy M7 GPS Remote

The last model in the Motocaddy remote range has all of the bells and whistles attached, and is arguably the complete remote golf trolley experience. The M7 GPS REMOTE is built on the same platform as the M7 REMOTE, but with a powerful GPS built into the handle. This creates the ultimate caddie, one that carries your clubs and now gives you accurate yardages on over 40,000 courses worldwide.

The GPS is as comprehensive as can be found on any remote golf trolley. Not only does it offer the classic yardages to the front, middle and back of the green and yardages to on-course hazards, but it offers full hole mapping too. Utilising the crystal clear 3.5-inch LCD touchscreen display, full hole mapping can be utilised to check distances to lay-up points, doglegs and hazards at the touch of a finger.

Another powerful feature of the GPS is the dynamic green view with drag-and-drop pin. These graphics don't just show you a generic picture of a green with the yardages; instead, they display a detailed picture of the exact green shape and hazard size in front of you, whilst allowing you to drop the pin in the precise area of the green for an even more accurate yardage.

The benefits of the GPS don't stop there. Performance tracking and shot measurement allow you to take a more introspective look at your own game by tracking your score, fairways hit, greens hit and putts per hole, while the shot measuring tool can tell you exactly how far you've pumped a drive down the middle of the fairway once you've walked up to your ball.

For those who want to keep an eye on their phone without having to have it in their pocket, optional alerts on the GPS system can show you calls, texts, emails and app notifications, including Facebook and WhatsApp. It's an incredibly powerful GPS system that allows you to take even closer control of your game, all while benefiting from all that is great about a remote electric trolley.
