The Trilby Tour is back for 2022 to offer regular golfers the chance to compete on Sky Sports and make it to the prestigious Grand Final at the famed Scottish Open venue Dundonald Links.

The series, a mixed competition for the first time this year, gets underway in June with tournaments at The Springs Resort & Golf Club in Oxfordshire and Carus Green in Cumbria. It then heads to Yorkshire's Kilnwick Percy in July before the final 'regular' championship event takes place at Dundonald in August.

The Grand Final in September returns to Dundonald and will see the leading 10 men and 5 women from each championship event contest the title, where an amazing prize bundle worth £2,000 is up for grabs as well as bragging rights as the Trilby Tour 2022 Champion!

For this re-launched season, competitor benefits include attractive prizes, a reduced entry fee, the latest line of Glenmuir clothing and a whole host of other fantastic player incentives.

So, with that in mind, we look at five reasons why you should play on the Trilby Tour in 2022...

1. Value

For the entry fee of £260, Trilby Tour competitors get two rounds of golf including the championship day as well as a pre-tournament practice round the day before - caddies also benefit from a reduced green fee if they wish to enjoy a practice round too. Also included in the fee is a Glenmuir shirt, a cap, a goodie bag, breakfast and food afterwards (food for caddie and player) plus the chance to make the Grand Final! All competitors also receive a voucher booklet for special offers at Darwin Escapes’ golf venues.

The Grand Final takes place at the recently-upgraded Dundonald Links, host of both the men's and women's Scottish Opens in recent years, which has a £195 summer green fee. Put simply, you get a lot of bang for your buck when you enter a Trilby Tour event.

2. Be on TV

One of the unique parts of the Trilby Tour is the chance to play on Sky Sports

The Trilby Tour is the only golf event shown on Sky Sports to feature regular amateur golfers, so for most of us this is our only chance to grace the screens of the UK and Ireland's biggest sports channel. For those of us unable to make the Amateur Championship or the PGA/DP World LPGA/LET Tours, this is the best chance to play golf in a real televised competitive event. Get your friends and family round to watch you tackle a Trilby Tour event on Sky Sports later this year in what will be a real 'pinch me' moment - especially if you play well!

3. Closest thing to a Tour Pro experience

The Trilby Tour is the closest you'll get to being on the tour as a club golfer to allow you to live out your dreams. You'll have the cameras out ready to pick up your best shots, a brand new outfit and even a caddie who will be wearing a bib featuring your name - just like the world's best golfers have! Whilst it's a fun and friendly environment, it's a real golf tournament where you'll be competing to make the Grand Final, just like how the world's best golfers compete to make their season-ending finale. You'll have to manage the cameras and the nerves to test if you can make your way to the Trilby Tour Grand Final.

4. Great prizes

There are fantastic golf shoe, apparel and equipment prizes to be won along the way at each event from Motocaddy, Glenmuir and Duca del Cosma, meaning you'll be very well rewarded for good play on the Trilby Tour in 2022.

Each male and female championship winner will receive a head to toe Glenmuir outfit featuring Glenmuir socks, trousers, polo shirt and mid-layer, whilst the Grand Final winner will receive an Ultimate Glenmuir/Sunderland golf outfit, Glenmuir socks, trousers, polo shirt and mid-layer plus a Sunderland of Scotland waterproof suit and coldwear gilet.

Each male and female championship winner will also get a pair of Duca del Cosma Churchill or Belleza shoes. The Grand Final winner will receive a Duca del Cosma Ultimate prize of one pair of JL1 shoes and one pair of Regent shoes (men) or one pair of Belleza shoes and one pair of Melanie shoes (women) plus four cabretta leather gloves.

On top of that, each male and female championship winner will get a Motocaddy S1 electric trolley and the Grand Final winner will receive a Motocaddy M5 GPS electric Trolley with Pro-Series cart bag and Pro 3000 Laser rangefinder.

There will be Pro 3000 laser rangefinders up for grabs for nearest the pin at each championship and the Grand Final!

5. The competition

If you're one of the top 10 men or top five women in each of the four championship events you'll successfully book your spot at the Grand Final at Dundonald Links. You'll not only claim the ultimate bragging rights but will win an amazing prize bundle worth £2,000! There's nothing quite as satisfying as putting a good round together under competition conditions and advancing into a huge final. A lot is on the line whilst playing on the Trilby Tour and anyone who loves competing will be in their element this year - there's nothing quite like competitive golf after all.
