New to the wide range of men’s Gore-Tex waterproofs is the Abe jacket.

Constructed from Bluesign approved fabric, the jacket is 100% waterproof and windproof, while remaining extremely breathable. 

In the popular Gore-Tex Paclite style, the lightweight Apollo full-zip jacket now comes in Golf Green among seven colour choices.

In the men’s versatile Interface-1 range, the fully windproof hybrid Lucas jacket with a water repellent finish now comes in five colour options, including Golf Green. 

An addition to the Insula sweater eco-generation range, the Damian offers additional padding on the shoulders and back for extra warmth made from 100% recyclable polyester from Thermore. The sweater is extremely breathable, while maintaining a warming effect #3 - the highest level of warmth in the category. 

Headlining the vibrant Ventil8 Plus shirt range, the Mac, Maddox and Marshall styles showcase the inspiration behind the range, with innovative pixel designs in bright and bold colours.

The shirts provide UV 20+ protection and come in a Quickdry stretch fabric for improved comfort. Other new styles are the Marco and Morton.

A new Ethan vest with a pixel print has been added to the Skinthight thermal base layer range.

New to the women's Gore-Tex range, the Anya lined jacket is made from Bluesign approved fabric.

The extremely lightweight and windproof jacket is treated with environmentally friendly water repellency and is 100% waterproof. It features two front pockets, one inside chest pocket, plus a two-way zipper and adjustable cuffs for greater comfort.

An expanded Interface-1 range of windproof and water-repellent jackets and bodywarmers includes a super-soft, extremely breathable Leslie jacket, with shaped sleeves for easy movement and a level #2 warming effect. 

The attractive Dolly sweater joins the Insula range, offering style and comfort in equal measure, thanks to the super-soft and stretchy quick dry fabric that allows complete freedom of movement, while remaining both warm and breathable. 

Additions to the Ventil8 Plus shirt range include the stylish Maia that offers golfers UV 20+ protection.

Galvin Green has introduced a new limited edition links collection of top-quality golf garments this summer, featuring a powerful design inspired by the natural conditions that make playing links golf so formidable.

The three complimentary pieces in the stunning capsule collection are a highly breathable short sleeved shirt with an ocean print and distinctive white sporty stripe panel across the chest; a full zip sweater with Navy front and back panels and trim on the cuffs, plus white sleeves; and a lightweight mesh cap in Navy and coordinated ocean print design.

Incorporating stretch fabric, it also offers UV 20+ protection and is easy to maintain - drying quickly without the need to iron.

Based on the top selling Dominic style, the sweater (RRP £149) in the Links collection features two front pockets and is designed with stretch fabric for optimum freedom in the swing. Galvin Green's new GameDay collection, available from today, showcases golf clothing that is stylish but with sustainability in mind - pushing boundaries with how it’s made, what it's made from, and focusing on producing a long-lasting garment.

Galvin Green has really emphasised its ‘Green in Galvin Green’ initiative, with around 70 per cent of the collection being produced using environmental Bluesign approved fabric.

The new additions to the Gore-Tex range of waterproof jackets provide comfort and protection tailored to golfers. The new full-zip Angus (£329) features 'Superstretch' panels across the back for easier rotation in your golf swing, whilst the 'slide & glide' lined Action (£449) incorporates strengthened fabric on the shoulders and lower back for golfers that carry their stand bags.

Galvin Green claims its Interface-1 jackets can be worn 95 out of 100 rounds, with the aim to enable golfers to perform at their best even in the most extreme playing conditions. The Linc jacket (£249) has been added to the range, offering a new super-soft, stretchy three-layer polyester knit fabric which keeps the wearer warm.

It’s the Insula sweater range where we really see Galvin Green’s ‘style and sustainability’ initiatives. The new Duke (£149) and Dominic (£149) half-zip sweaters are made entirely from fabric woven in Italy out of recycled plastic bottles.

With the new GameDay collection, Galvin Green has extended its Ventil8 Plus shirt range to offer 38 different shirt options for the upcoming summer. The Monty (£69), Max (£59) and Milan (£69) come in an array of colour choices, whilst the Mitchell 'QuickDry' style (£69) offers a stretch fabric with UV protection.

It’s not just the men’s range where there have been expansions, the women’s collection see’s the inclusion of the Gore-Tex 'Paclite' Aila jacket (£289) and additions to the Interface-1 range.

The Lisa bodywarmer (£189) is made of a new fabric, with padded inserts on the front and back, whilst the Lorene jacket (£209) comes with body-mapping technology to provide warmth where it's needed most.

Like the men’s collection, the women also see a brand-new Insula range; characterised by sustainability and comfort. The Dalia crew neck sweater (£79) comes in a super soft fabric, as does the traditional-looking Daisy sweater (£129), whilst the Dina sweater (£99) provides a soft feel due to the lyocell fabric made from wood fibres.

Galvin Green 2020 Part 2 Apparel Collection Unveiled

Premium golf apparel brand Galvin Green has unveiled its second clothing line for 2020 inspired by the ‘Science of Excellence’.

The comprehensive collection of golf wear is designed to enable golfers to perform in all weather conditions. It includes cutting-edge fabric technologies to maximise performance levels, while minimising any social or environmental impact, to the point where many garments are made from materials approved under the Bluesign textile manufacturing standard and almost all Insula sweaters are now made from recycled polyester.

The brand has also put forward ‘Comfort Combinations’ that equip a golfer with layering suggestions for different playing conditions – rainy, cold and windy, windy and sunny or sunny and warm – while matching them with new colourways.

In the new men’s range for example, the outfits for a rainy day feature the Apollo waterproof Gore-Tex Paclite stretch fabric jacket (£290) in this new colour, plus the Dwight Insula sweater (£115) made from recycled plastic bottles and the Edwin Skintight Thermal top (£50) in Black.

The Interface-1 range of Hybrid windproof and water-repellent jackets that the brand recommends being worn on 95 out of 100 rounds has been expanded to include the new Lanzo padded jacket (£250) with a warming effect. Also featured is the new Langley (£220) in stretch fabric, which comes with a full zip and front pockets in three colours. The Lex (below, £190) is a new half-zip version in five colours.

Among the latest sweaters in Insula stretch fabric which also now offer three comfort levels, are the Dante hoodie (£150) and the Duke half-zip (£150) made from recycled plastic bottles with padded shoulders for extra warmth in Navy and Black. The lighter half-zip Insula Dixon (£100) comes in new colours such as Red Orange and Black.

The collection of Ventil8 Plus cool layer shirts is led by the star-spangled Mason (£70) in four colour options and offers excellent moisture-wicking properties and UV protection 20+.

The 2020 Part Two range is available at retail from today and at www.galvingreen.com from 15 August.

Swedish golf apparel brand Galvin Green has intensified its drive to supply the sustainable products with the introduction of a new line of long-lasting Insula warm layer garments made entirely from recycled plastic bottles.

The latest version of the Dwight sweater is made 100 per cent from recycled polyester derived from as many as 17 litre-sized plastic bottles. The durable, stretchy half-zip garment delivers thermal insulation, as well as breathability and easy care across six colour choices.

Other Insula garments made from the same recycled material are the Damie full-zip (below) and Drake half-zip sweaters.

“Sustainability is part of the Galvin Green DNA and the new recycled polyester Dwight sweater reflects that fact perfectly,” said CEO Nicholai Stein.

“There is no compromise on the comfort or performance levels and it spearheads the new sustainable garments that we plan to introduce on a larger scale in future. We always set out to introduce cutting edge technologies to maximise a golfer’s performance, while at the same time, looking to minimise environmental impact,” he added.

All seven styles of Insula warm layer garments – 24 sweaters in total, including the Dolph full-zip hoodie – are made from fabric approved to the globally recognised Bluesign standard for environmental textile production.

The same is true of all of its Gore-Tex waterproof garments, like the Apollo jacket, which first encompassed bluesign-approved fabric in 2013. Over the past five years, the environmentally friendly fabric has been integrated into the Galvin Green collections to the point where it now features in all six styles of waterproof jackets and three trousers – making up 23 jacket options and five choices in trousers.

As part of the brand’s push for sustainability, Galvin Green introduced a limited Upcycle Edition range of high-performance garments last year made from fabric remaining from its main production runs. In addition, all of the Insula fabric used in garment manufacture is produced at factories using solar roof panels to generate power for the machinery.

A waterproof jacket has to tick an awful lot of boxes and while Galvin Green’s offerings are widely regarded as being the best in the business, they have always lacked one thing.

Pockets. Front pockets to be precise. Maybe it’s just me, but in my opinion front pockets are an essential feature when playing in cold or wet weather. I’ve been campaigning for them to be added and finally, Galvin Green has obliged with the launch of the Apollo (I highly doubt I had any influence into their addition!).

They are soft inside and manage to stay close to your torso when not in use, which is crucial in not getting in the way when making a swing. Plus, they have zips so you can store items without worrying about them falling out.

With this feature included, the Gore-Tex Paclite Apollo is as close to flawless as you’re going to find in a waterproof jacket. Lightweight, stretchy and soft, it allows you to swing unrestricted while keeping elements at bay. The thin material also allows it to be easily combined with warm layers underneath on particularly baltic outings.

You’ll notice from the images I’m wearing it in bright sunshine. No I’m not going mad, as the Apollo is just as effective at keeping wind out as it is rain, although there are more cost-effective options in Galvin Green’s range that can do this. The Interface-1 Lincoln, for example.

The fit is excellent, with an elasticated drawstring at the waist and Velcro cuffs creating a snug, tailored fit.

The other thing to note is the styling. I think Galvin Green has nailed it on the Apollo. It will be recognizable as a Galvin Green product from the adjacent fairway and should appeal to a wide range of tastes. Modern, smart and a little in your face without going over the top.

Premium Swedish golf brand Galvin Green has just unveiled Part One of its striking new 2020 apparel collection.

Swedish apparel brand Galvin Green has unveiled its 2020 Part One Collection, which has greatly expanded to nearly 300 performance garments.

Headlining the latest collection is the Apollo Gore-Tec Paclite waterproof jacket. It features front pockets for the first time, carefully designed so as to not create any unwanted distractions or swing interference while also only adding 25 grams to the total weight of 300g.

Easy to pack into the golf bag, the Apollo jacket is extremely breathable and has a super-soft hand feel. Shaped sleeves provide easy movement and cuffs feature partial elastic and a tab with a touch and close Velcro fastener. Adjustable chest width tabs and an elasticated drawstring at the hem deliver a comfortable fit.

At the top of the new range sits two super-lightweight Gore-Tex Shakedry jackets. The Ashton now comes in two colours (grey/silver or ash Grey/red) and the Ashby, pictured above, has a side zip for easy removal and an elastic drawstring for a comfortable and snug fit.

“The half-zip Shakedry jacket has been added due to demand from golfers who prefer an even more streamlined waterproof top,” said new CEO Nicholai Stein.

“World-class tour players who wore the full-zip jacket told us it felt like wearing another shirt, but this version is even lighter and super functional for accomplished players.”

The Archie full-zip waterproof now comes in a third colour whilst the Axel and Arthur waterproof trousers come in more sizes and colours than ever before.

Heading up the versatile Interface-1 range is the 3-level warming effect Lyon jacket (above). Windproof and extremely breathable, it features Primaloft insulation padding on the chest and a Gore-Tex Infinium membrane. An elastic drawstring at the hem and partial elastic cuffs ensure a good fit.

For warmth in cool conditions, the latest Insula layers feature a new standard in thermal comfort. The lightweight, breathable material used in the full-zip Declan jacket offers the softest surface ever for insulation next to the skin. The half-zip pullover Dixon, above, offers an outstanding warming effect and is soft next to the skin.

Galvin Green has also enhanced its Ventil8 Plus collection thanks to a plethora of new designs, including the Markell (above) with a shattering impact print, the Malone in flowing stripes and the Moss with an impactful splash of colours.

Finally, the standout Ladies collection has a series of new garments for the 2020 season, such as the Aurora waterproof jacket, Diane full-zip hoodie, Mercy sleeveless shirt and Misty skirt, the latter two of which are pictured above.

Styling The subtle print on the fabric, which has a slight shine to it, along with the flashes of bright colour and how well it fits, make it visually one of our favourite outerwear products.

Features It’s important that a waterproof jacket isn’t bulky, so it can be easily combined with other layers and not impede the golf swing. None possess this trait better than the Galvin Green Ashton Shakedry.

This one-of-a-kind jacket is incredibly thin and lightweight, to the point you barely notice you’ve got another layer on. It also takes up minimal space and weight when it’s stored in your golf bag.

Perhaps its most impressive quality is its water repellency. With the Gore-Tex membrane on show for the first time, golfers can see it working to prevent water from entering the jacket.

It beads straight off with the minimum of fuss, barely leaving a trace of water behind. This not only means it dries very quickly, but it also keeps the weight low and stops any chilling effect that can come from water staying in the outer fabric. It can also be combined with other layers underneath if the temperatures drop.

There are lots of nice golf-specific touches, too, like the hem drawstring, soft padded collar and specially shaped elasticated cuffs. It does lack side pockets, but it’s very comfortable as the material is surprisingly smooth and soft. The fact it is also windproof and breathable means it can be worn even when it isn’t raining, adding value.

We like the attention to detail – the zip stays flat and doesn’t wobble in the wind, for example. The drawstring at the waist and concealed chest pocket are also nice touches.

Galvin Green Lincoln Interface-1 Jacket Review

This is aimed at golfers seeking a versatile, wind proof mid layer that combats multiple elements.

Key technology This half-zip Interface-1 garment comes in five colours and is made from a lightweight, breathable and windproof material suitable for the majority of rounds throughout the year. It also features an elastic drawstring at the hem, elastic cuffs and a repositioned side seam for optimum comfort. It forms part of Galvin Green's new collection for 2019, which you can read about here.

How we tested We wore a red/black Lincoln out on the course over multiple rounds in different weather conditions to assess fit and performance.

The styling is relatively subdued by Galvin Green’s standards but it does come in other, brighter colour choices and the logo and print section on the chest along with the different colour blocks on the front and back certainly catch your eye and enhance the premium aesthetics.

We found this jacket to be surprisingly efficient at keeping the wind out given how the thin material is. Its impressive stretch properties ensure freedom of movement is not restricted during the swing.

The half-zip design is easy to slide on thanks to the soft inner fabric and fits snugly, ensuring no excess material around the torso impedes the swing, helped by the elasticated waist and wrist sections.

The high level of waterproof protection makes it a feasible option for all but the heaviest of downpours - water beads off the outer fabric quickly, leaving no visible trace behind.

The stretchiness of the material is pretty incredible considering how thin it is, which also allows it to be combined easily with other layers either underneath or on top.

The wind resistance also helps keep the winter chill at bay and it can be easily folded and stored in small pockets in your golf bag. A lack of pockets would be our one minor criticism.

Galvin Green 2019 Part 1 Apparel Collection Revealed

Premium performance golf apparel brand Galvin Green has launched its most advanced clothing collection to date for the start of the 2019 season, comprising a total of 368 garments and matching accessories.

These include an even bigger selection of lightweight garments with greater breathability, stretch properties, moisture transportation, thermal insulation and ultraviolet protection than ever before.

Launching alongside the Part 1 Collection is the new Ashton Gore-Tex Shakedry jacket (above, RRP £280), a standalone garment that is the first streamlined, superlight waterproof jacket of its kind in golf. It’s also the lightest rain jacket ever made by Galvin Green – weighing just 174 grams - thanks to the unrivalled Gore-Tex membrane being placed on the outside without a face fabric for the first time. This enables water to bead off the surface, creating minimal chilling effect and a much faster dry-off time.

It also makes it totally windproof, highly breathable, eliminates friction during the golf swing and takes up minimal space inside the golf bag when folded down for storage. It comes in two colour options.

At the forefront is the Archie full-zip waterproof jacket (above, RRP £449.95) in lightweight stretch Gore-Tex fabric, which forms part of the Carbon Series in black, grey and silver colourways. It features the smooth C-Knit ‘slide and glide’ backer and incorporates Gore-Tex Superstretch inserts in key areas - first used on garments worn by Europe’s victorious 2018 Ryder Cup team.

The soft, quiet and extremely breathable jacket also features durable Vectran technology on the shoulders for those who prefer to carry their clubs. Matching super-stretch Axel waterproof trousers are also available in 17 size options across the waist and leg lengths.

The Carbon Series also features the Lloyd full-zip jacket (Silver) and half-zip Lancelot in the flexible Interface-1 hybrid shell layer, plus the Dave full-zip Insula jacket offering thermal regulation. Also included are the Matt and Mylo short sleeve shirts in the moisture-wicking Ventil8 Plus fabric.

A Shell Layer newcomer is the ultra-lightweight Andres full-zip jacket (above, RRP £279.95) in Gore-Tex Paclite stretch fabric technology for minimal swing restriction. Available in six colourways, it features a chest pocket and has matching waterproof Arthur trousers available in red, navy or black in more than 17 size options.

As many as nine garments feature in the versatile and lightweight Interface-1 hybrid range that can be worn 95 out of 100 rounds. The full-zip Laurent and half-zip Lincoln (below, RRP £189.95) come in five colours, including gold and lagoon blue. Each can be paired with the Leo trousers.

The warm Insula range features the new Doug full-zip jacket (below, RRP £189.95) featuring a quality padded front and two handy pockets in the new Antarctica colourway. The Dale jacket and Deon pullover both offer magenta pink colour options, while the high collar Drake pullover comes in seven colour choices.

New Cool Layer short sleeve shirts in Ventil8 Plus fabric include the sporty Myles incorporating a two-tone honeycomb design, plus the Milton (below, RRP £79.95), a multi-fabric shirt in a duel block pattern available in five colourways.

Fitted Noah and regular cut Nash trousers provide excellent moisture transportation in Ventil8 Plus and 100 per cent polyester stretch fabric with UPF 20+.

Available to all golfers across Europe this month, European Captain Thomas Bjørn had his say on the four garments designed to help Europe Regain The Ryder Cup from the USA, whatever weather conditions they face this September.

“All four new hi-tech garments have been designed in close collaboration with Thomas Bjørn, who knew precisely what he wanted and was keen to blend the classic Navy and Swedish blue colourways with flashes of white and add the European flag on the back,’’ said Christian Nilsson, CEO of Galvin Green.

"We also took inspiration from the magnificent Le Golf National golf course to name individual lines that are now available to other golfers well ahead of the event,” he added.

The waterproof jackets with C-Knit backer incorporate a Gore-Tex Super Stretch fabric on the shoulders and elbows that is new to golf and provides at least four times more stretch than previous versions.

Extremely breathable, the Albatros (named after the Championship course) full-zip jacket (above) and the Forward (1^st hole) short-sleeved jacket (below) also feature the smooth ‘slide & glide’ inner material of the exclusive C-Knit fabric.

Both jackets feature two front pockets and adjustors on the chest and collar to help with the fit and keep out the rain. The sleeves on the Albatros are shaped for easy movement in the swing and the sleeve ends are smooth and soft, while the hem is laminated for a cleaner look. A touch & close fastener ensures rain doesn’t intrude, along with a water-repellent zipper.

The matching pair of waterproof trousers The Judges (15^th) also come in Gore-Tex fabric with the C-Knit backer for a smooth ‘slide & glide’ experience when worn over other trousers. A Gore-Tex Super Stretch panel is located at the top of the back to assist when bending over putts. An elasticated waist and drawstring provides the perfect fit, while the leg width can also be adjusted.

Making its first appearance in Ryder Cup matches will be the lightweight Interface-1 Shell Layer Hybrid jacket Up Wind (9^th hole) – a soft, quiet garment suitable for 95 out of 100 rounds played in standard conditions.

Totally windproof and highly breathable, the jacket is made from 100% polyester stretch fabric with a PU breathable membrane and water-repellent finish. The full-zip jacket features two hidden front pockets an elastic drawstring at the hem and a repositioned side seam for optimum comfort.

In addition to branded versions of these Team garments, Galvin Green has added two Insula jackets in the same styling for club golfers to wear – the full-zip The Crowd (18^th hole, above) and the half-zip The Verdict (17^th).

Galvin Green Lance Interface-1 Jacket Review

Part of the impressive 2018 Part 1 Collection, the new Galvin Green Interface-1 product range places a huge focus on versatility. While its Gore-Tex waterproofs continue to lead the way in outerwear for the infrequent days of heavy rain, Interface-1 is said to be suitable for all the other days you play golf.

We played two rounds at Royal Portrush and Portstewart Golf Clubs wearing the Galvin Green Lance, one of the thinner jackets in the Interface-1 range. Once zipped up, our initial thoughts were of how thin, soft and stretchy the material was, as well how well it fitted and how stylish the design was.

Conditions were especially wintery – cold with added wind chill coming from strong gusts off the Atlantic. We were both impressed and surprised with how little of the wind we could feel, despite sub zero gusts of up to 30 mph, especially given how thin the fabric is.

This thin fabric also made it easier to combine the jacket with other products underneath, like a base layer and Insula full zip for added warmth. The Lance isn’t necessarily built for warmth, although it does provide an element of this, and other products in the range are designed more for this purpose – like the Larry, which has Primaloft padding.

The stretch of the fabric allowed us to swing completely unrestricted and because it was so lightweight, we barely even noticed we were wearing it.

The zip on the arm pocket is initially visible in your peripheral vision when standing over the ball, especially when it wobbles in the wind, but you soon forget about it. There also isn’t any pockets to put your hands in at the front, but there is a drawstring around the waist to create a snug, more playable fit.

We also like the elasticated cuffs and softness of the fabric, all contributing to what is a pleasant user experience that will allow golfers to focus on their game instead of letting the conditions affect them.

Galvin Green is introducing a new piece to the shell layer in the 2018 Part One Collection called Interface-1, said to be so versatile that it's the jacket golfers can wear 95 out of 100 rounds thanks to state-of-the-art fabrics providing both performance and protection.

The lightweight, windproof Interface-1 garments are water repellent and extremely soft, stretchy and breathable for maximum comfort. They come in seven different styles and up to eight colour variations, including new Orange and Fore Green in three colour combinations.

The Lennox (above, RRP £200) is a half-zip jacket with a 3-layer fabric construction in five colour variations with elastic binding on the cuffs, while the Leon (RRP £230) also incorporates a moisture-transporting backer in a full-zip style across four colourways. The Lenny (RRP £185) is the bodywarmer version with 3-layer construction in two colour options.

The Larry full-zip Interface-1  jacket (RRP £280) in two colour choices combines a soft Polyamide fabric with PrimaLoft padding, matched with a water repellent finish; while the Logan full-zip body warmer with a chest pocket provides (below, RRP £210) excellent protection from the elements with similar PrimaLoft padding in Navy or Black.

In a collection that contains almost 300 garments and accessories, there are a record 67 brand new lines (35 in the men’s range and 32 in the ladies’ collection), plus an enlarged junior offering.

The flagship waterproof jacket is the ultra-lightweight 3-layer full-zip Alon (RRP £400), incorporating Gore-Tex stretch fabric with exclusive C-Knit backer material to ’slide and glide’ over garments worn underneath. The breathability of the new C-Knit jackets is improved by more than 25%. Lighter than 2-layer lined Gore-Tex jackets, it comes in three colours and is matched with Axel trousers in two colours and 23 different size options.

Another newcomer to the Shell Layer range is the highly-distinctive Angelo full-zip Gore-Tex PacLite jacket (RRP £280) with a chest pocket in five, 3-colour combinations and prominent branding.

The increasingly popular Insula warm layer range has been extended with the eye-catching Dawson full zip jacket (RRP £140) with padded patches on the shoulders and a zipped pocket on the left sleeve offering thermal regulation and style.

The most striking new Cool Layer Ventil8 Plus short sleeve shirts include the classy Marlon (RRP £85) in four finely-dotted colour choices featuring tailored collar and cuffs and UV protection 20+, plus the Mayer in six versions, each with a variable stripe design and subtle ‘G’ logo.

The Skin-tight Thermal base layer range has also been extended with the introduction of the Ebbot long sleeve, crew neck vest with a pattern design across the shoulders and carrying prominent branding on the sleeve.

Christiaan, 23, finished strongly at the recent Alfred Dunhill Links Championship with a closing 67 on the Old Course at St Andrews. He was runner-up at the 2016 BMW SA Open and has won three events in his native South Africa since turning professional in 2015.

Guido, 20, won on the Alps Tour last month when he defeated two Frenchmen in a play-off for the Open Abruzzo title in his native Italy. He turned professional last October after competing in the Terre dei Consoli Open and enjoying a highly successful amateur career.

The full-zip Bruce jacket is made from Gore Windstopper fabric that is totally windproof and highly breathable. The upper-body and sleeves feature a light and soft Polyamide fabric with PrimaLoft padding and Gore Windstopper lining to keep out windchill. The lower front and back of the garment is made in lightweight Gore Windstopper three-layer fabric to sustain a core body temperature.

Also pictured underneath the Bruce jacket is the Dean Insula (£110) in yellow, which we wore underneath on especially cold days.

How we tested

We wore the Bruce jacket, combined with the Dean Insula where appropriate, over a number of rounds before writing this review.

Styling

The mixture of padded and smooth areas creates a trendy and pleasing aesthetic. Yes it is all black but the subtle detailing like the Galvin Green logos and while zipper trim add that hint of style.

Playability

We liked how this kept us warm without restricting our swing. The drawstrings on the waist help create a more tailored fit and the levels of comfort were exceptional thanks to the soft fabrics.

Styling

The styling is mostly simple and fairly conservative but there are flashes of colour to add a fresh, modern spark to a classic golfing look. It is the small details within the Galvin Green styling that create a smart and premium appearance.

Fit

The fit is more athletic than other golf brands and as such, the clothes all look smart and well-tailored. The use of modern, stretchable fabrics ensures that whilst the fit is athletic, there is no restriction of movement whatsoever.

Comfort

During the worst of the weather I was wearing four layers. This is where the more expensive Galvin Green clothing really comes into it’s own. The lightweight, breathable, stretchy fabrics allow you to concentrate on the golf no matter how bad conditions have become!

Performance

In some of the worst weather conditions I have ever played golf in, the Galvin Green outerwear excelled. Apart from the odd small area, I was pretty much completely dry after four hours of being battered by the wind and rain. The windstopper is also incredibly lightweight, an ideal garment for the golf bag, ready to be used as the weather changes. The Ventil8 polo shirts look the part and feel soft and stretchy, even over a base layer, and you won't ever be cold if you're wearing one of Galvin Green's exceptional Insula products - a must during the winter months.

Swedish golf outerwear specialist Galvin Green have unveiled their new line of waterproofs, pullovers and polo shirts for Autumn/Winter 2015

Apparel brand Galvin Green has unveiled its new Autumn Winter 2015 collection that takes its high performance, brightly-coloured golf outerwear to another level.

Among 20 brand new garments in the premium range are three Shell Layer GORE-TEX waterproof jackets incorporating the latest Stretch fabric technology boasting four colours for an eye-catching look to appeal to all ages.

Galvin Green, a market leader in high-performance golf clothing, has appointed its first Global Brand Manager as the company prepares for expansion into America.

Nicholai Stein, 35, will be tasked with overseeing marketing strategy in 22 existing countries and preparing for the brand's 2014 launch in America.

Stein, from Helsinborg, Sweden, starts at Galvin Green's Vaxjo headquarters in January. He will be moving from the VF Corporation, where he was Lee Jeans' Scandinavian Market Manager.

"We have appointed Nicholai to communicate our brand on a more global scale," said Christian Nilsson, Galvin Green's CEO.

"His principal strengths are in retail, brand-building and campaigns - areas we want to strengthen."
